The debate was presented by Daniel Faura, president of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Catalonia (CCJCC) and moderated by Joan Lagen, a member of the ICJCE Mediation Committee and head of the CCJCC Mediation Group. The speakers were: 

  •  Rosa Torre, director of the Private Law Mediation Centre of Generalitat de Catalunya
  •  Mercedes Tarrazón, partner of Dispute Management and Consul at the Consulate of the Sea in Barcelona
  •  Antonio Ruiz, partner of Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira and head of the Mediation and Arbitration Department of the Barcelona office
  •  Enric Olcina, partner and head of the Forensic Department of KPMG in Catalonia
The purpose of this session was to reflect on the current situation of the Audit Act in the world of business, understand how a typical process is implemented and disseminate and discuss the value that chartered accountants can contribute to the process in exercising their professional activities and/or acting as a member of the Auditor Mediation Service, both in assisting the parties and their lawyers and acting as a mediator during the pre-arbitration phase.
